It became a dukedom under
Henry the 4th, and the Duke of Richelieu,
who was also the Duke of Fronsac, constructed an Italian-style mansion in the area, which became the scene of many local parties.
Just a stone’s throw from the port of Libourne,
the vineyard was more renowned during
the 18th century than its prestigious neighbors Pomerol and Saint-Emilion. The chateau’s history began in 1953 with the Roux family. Later on it was acquired in 2005, by Dutch entrepreneur, Philip de Haseth-Möller, a great lover of wine. More recently,
LFP Grands Vignobles de France purchased Château Vrai Canon Bouché
in March 2014. The new owners have maintained the existing team and are continuing with the
good work done so far.
